Today's Special Word: "Cud-Ardy"

Trying to capture the versatility of an English Toy Terrier is very difficult - they're so very toy, and they're so very terrier.

On the one hand, they are small, easily fitting in the crook of your arm like an American football. They can be carried in backpacks on hikes, and on some aeroplanes, they even fit under the seat (newer planes have too much electronic stuff to fit anything more than a tiny Chihuahua!).

ETTs are easily carried

ETTs love to cuddle. This is no understatement. Some people call them their canine water bottle. In my own home, I am slightly hesitant to admit that all three of mine burrow into the duvet at night and array themselves around my feet, and I'm never happier than with all that toasty warmth by my tootsies.

But then there's the flip-side: the hardy soul that trots happily alongside for miles and miles, whether up hill and down dale or stretching out over sandy beaches. You won't wear out an ETT. They might need a fleece when it's cold and windy, and a wet little jersey to keep their black coat cool in the burning sun, but they are game for anything as long as it's with you.

The Little Dog that Doesn't Quit

So, in praise of this little dog that's both cuddly and hardy, we've coined a new word for them:

CUD-ARDY!
